New Polymer Plant Bolsters Morocco’s Automotive Industry
Tangier, June 7, 2025
Shenzhen JDD Tech New Material Co., Ltd has confirmed plans to build a polymer sleeve factory in Tangier, investing 14 million USD. Announced on June 7, the facility will produce 5 million protective sleeves annually for the automotive industry, leveraging Morocco’s 614,000 vehicle production in 2024.
Managed through its subsidiary Jundingda International, the project taps Shenzhen JDD’s expertise since 2004, with 2024 revenue of 203 million USD and exports worth 81 million USD. The factory will create 150 jobs initially, occupy 12,000 square meters, and use 80% renewable energy in production. Construction starts July 2025, aiming for completion by December 2026, with capacity to expand to 8 million sleeves by 2028.
This follows BYD’s 145 million USD electric vehicle plant in Tangier in 2023. The plant targets 30% of Morocco’s automotive sleeve market.
