Cainiao Smart Logistics Network, Alibaba Group’s logistics arm, has announced a $50 million investment to establish a regional logistics hub in Casablanca, Morocco. The facility aims to enhance e-commerce connectivity between China, Africa, and Europe, leveraging Morocco’s strategic location.
Cainiao will offer next-day delivery within Morocco and 72-hour shipping to Europe, integrating digital payment systems like WeChat Pay for Chinese consumers. The hub will partner with local Moroccan logistics firms to streamline last-mile delivery, improving efficiency for cross-border trade.
This investment aligns with Cainiao’s global expansion strategy, following its recent rollout of next-day delivery services in Europe for €2. A prior logistics collaboration in the region includes Cainiao’s establishment of Cainiao Smart Logistics Network Morocco on May 9, 2025, focusing on e-commerce infrastructure development.
