Morocco’s Cooper Pharma has signed a strategic partnership with China’s Jemincare Pharmaceutical Group to advance pharmaceutical innovation and industrial self-reliance.
The agreement, formalized during a ceremony in Rabat attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, focuses on developing new medical treatments and enhancing local production capabilities. Jemincare will invest $20 million in joint R&D projects, equipping Moroccan teams with advanced expertise to strengthen the country’s pharmaceutical ecosystem.
The collaboration aims to reduce Morocco’s reliance on imported medicines by fostering local skills and technology transfer, aligning with national goals for health sector resilience.
This deal follows a similar collaboration in the pharmaceutical sector, such as the 2023 agreement between Morocco’s Sothema and China’s Sinopharm to establish a vaccine manufacturing facility in Benslimane.
