Sinoma Expands into Casablanca with New Subsidiary in Cement Sector

Chinese state-owned firm Sinoma, under China National Building Material Group, has established a new subsidiary in Casablanca, Morocco, to strengthen its presence in the cement sector. This marks Sinoma’s return to Morocco after its involvement in constructing the Atlantic Ciment plant in Settat, which was sold to Ciments du Maroc in 2019.
The subsidiary aims to capitalize on Morocco’s strategic position as a gateway to African markets, focusing on cement and construction materials. This move follows Sinoma’s recent acquisition of Tunisia’s Les Ciments de Jbel Oust cement company on April 16, 2025, reflecting its broader expansion in North Africa.
Sinoma’s return aligns with Morocco’s growing appeal for Chinese investments, as seen in recent projects like Shikong Daoyu’s $50 million spatial system initiative on April 25, 2025.
