China Railway No.4 and CRBC Secure $245 Million in Rabat-Casablanca Highway Project

Chinese companies China Railway No.4 Engineering Group and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) have secured three lots worth 2.45 billion MAD (approximately $245 million) in Morocco’s Rabat-Casablanca continental highway project.
The 60 km highway, valued at 6.5 billion MAD, aims to ease traffic congestion between the two cities ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. CREC 4, in partnership with Moroccan firm STRO, won a 1.13 billion MAD lot for the Oued Elghbar to Oued Charrate section. CRBC, teamed with Aleq, secured two lots totaling 1.32 billion MAD for the Oued Charrate to Oued Yquem and Oued Yquem to RP 4022 segments.
Five lots were awarded to Moroccan companies, reflecting a focus on local involvement, while one lot was canceled.
This project underscores the strategic infrastructure collaboration between China and Morocco, enhancing connectivity for the region’s economic hubs.
