Ailong Technology Boosts Morocco-China Renewable Energy Cooperation with $340 Million Wind Plant in Nador

From Announcement to Reality: Factory Built and Production Set to Begin

Nador, May 22, 2025

Chinese firm Ailong Technology (艾龙科技有限公司) has completed construction of a $340 million wind turbine blade manufacturing plant in Nador, Morocco, set to open by late May 2025.

Initially announced in 2024 with a €220.8 million estimate, this milestone confirms the factory’s readiness, with production starting by mid-2026. Spanning 50 hectares near Nador West Mediterranean port, the facility will produce 600 sets of blades annually, targeting markets in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This Chinese investment in Morocco is expected to create 3,320 jobs, supporting the country’s goal of 52% renewable energy by 2030.

Ailong’s move highlights the growing Morocco-China renewable energy cooperation, leveraging Morocco’s strategic location for exports. The project follows a similar collaboration in the renewable energy sector, such as the Shanghai Electric’s $200 million Safi Wave II desalination project.
