Hwaway Technology Confirms End-2027 Production Start for Tangier Plant
Chinese automotive springs and stabilizer bars manufacturer Hwaway Technology has confirmed that its Tangier plant will begin production by the end of 2027. The timeline was reiterated during an investor presentation on October 14, 2026, related to a convertible bond issuance.
The project represents an authorized investment of up to $35 million USD (approximately 330 million Moroccan Dirhams), structured as a joint venture. Hwaway holds 65% of the venture, while Zhejiang Wan'an Technology, a Shenzhen-listed chassis and braking systems manufacturer, holds the remaining 35%.
The joint venture entity, Jinsheng Morocco Industrial, is registered in the Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City. It will manufacture springs and stabilizer bars for automobiles and other motor vehicles, targeting the North African and European markets. Construction will proceed in phases, adjusted according to market demand and the evolution of the company's operations.
The two partners have channeled their holdings through Hong Kong subsidiaries. The agreement provides a framework for bank loans guaranteed proportionally to shareholdings, with shareholder loans or capital increases to cover any funding gaps.
Hwaway already has an international footprint, having completed an acquisition in Germany in January 2026 and with a planned facility in Mexico for 2028. The company reported its first series deliveries for Stellantis and Renault programs in late August 2026. The Tangier and Mexico plants are intended to shorten delivery times and reduce supply chain risks.
