Morocco, August 6th, 2025

On August 5, 2025, China’s Guizhou Tyre Co., Ltd. (000589.SZ), a leading tire manufacturer founded in 1958, announced a new factory in Morocco to expand its global reach. The facility will produce Advance-brand tires, including off-road (OTR) and truck/bus tires, targeting Europe’s $24 billion tire market.

Guizhou Tyre, exporting to over 100 countries, follows the path of other Chinese tire manufacturers investing in Morocco. The Moroccan factory, leveraging the country’s free-trade agreements with the EU and U.S., aims to enhance production and create high-skill jobs by 2026.

Morocco’s automotive sector, exporting 600,872 vehicles in 2024, mostly to Europe, benefits from Tanger Med’s logistics hub. This investment positions Morocco as a manufacturing hub, driving trade and innovation.
