On January 5, 2026, Guizhou Tyre Co., Ltd. (000589.SZ), a leading Chinese tire manufacturer, received board approval for a $298.7 million investment in a new intelligent tire factory in Morocco, marking its second overseas production base after Vietnam.
The wholly-owned subsidiary, Advance Tyre (Morocco) Co., Ltd., will build a facility in Cité Mohammed VI Tanger Tech, producing 6 million semi-steel radial tires annually. Construction spans 2 years, with projected annual revenue of $182 million and profit of $41 million (IRR 13.37%). This follows the August 2025 initial announcement of intent, now advanced with detailed investment, capacity, location, and timeline.
Guizhou Tyre, founded in 1958 in Guiyang as a state-owned enterprise and privatized in 1996, exports to over 100 countries and has overseas bases in Vietnam and Thailand. The project leverages Morocco’s free-trade agreements with the EU and U.S. for global market access.
