On September 13, 2025, China’s Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. (605099.SH), a global leader in electric buses, delivered the first batch of 723 high-end electric buses to Morocco for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

This marks Yutong’s entry into the Moroccan market, with the buses featuring advanced safety systems, energy efficiency, and capacity for up to 80 passengers, designed for urban and inter-city transport during the tournament. The delivery, attended by Moroccan officials and Yutong executives in Zhengzhou, China, includes a full-service package: training for 100+ technicians, maintenance, and spare parts supply, ensuring 24/7 support.

Morocco’s transportation upgrade, part of AFCON preparations, involves 1,317 buses, with 30 electric models in the initial tender. Yutong’s 2024 annual revenue reached RMB 37.218 billion ($5.2 billion), with exports to over 60 countries, including 14,000 units in 2024. Yutong has powered global events like the Paris Olympics 2024 and serves major cities across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
