Hangyu Technology Transfers Forging Plant from Slovakia to Tangier Tech with $121 Million Investment

Chinese aerospace components manufacturer Hangyu Technology confirmed the relocation of its planned forging plant from Slovakia to Morocco’s Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City. The investment remains capped at $121 million USD (1.2 billion Moroccan Dirhams).

The decision followed extended administrative review procedures introduced by Slovak authorities, which significantly delayed approval timelines and created uncertainty over the project’s scheduling. Morocco confirmed that no comparable additional procedures would be required, allowing the project to proceed under a clearer regulatory framework.

The plant will produce high-precision forged metal parts for the aerospace and energy sectors, including components for aircraft engines and gas turbines. The project will be operated by a provisional entity named Atlas Advanced Materials LLC, owned by a subsidiary of Sichuan Delan Hangyu. Hangyu will inject approximately $42 million USD (300 million yuan) into the entity, disbursed progressively based on project needs.

The facility is expected to serve major international aerospace clients including GE Aerospace, Safran, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, and Collins Aerospace. Hangyu’s overseas revenue reached 645 million yuan in the first half of 2026, up 57.89% year-on-year, representing over half of its total revenue.

The project remains in early preparation. A preliminary land agreement has been signed, but final purchase contracts and all regulatory approvals from Chinese and Moroccan authorities are still pending.
